Lindsay Simon

President/Founder, RuffRider Transports and the LMS Animal Rescue Foundation

Lindsay Simon is a CASA advocate, a Rotarian, and an animal rescuer from Rosenberg, Texas. She is also an alumna of Trinity University in San Antonio and the University of Houston Law School.

An active Rotarian, Lindsay is the Service Projects Chair for the Rotary Club of Lafayette-North. Her additional civic work includes serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for at-risk children in the Acadiana area and as a member of the Board of Directors of Louisiana Imagine No Kill (LINK). She and her husband, Larry, are also major donors to the Acadiana Center for the Arts and the Hilliard Art Museum.

Lindsay lives in Lafayette, Louisiana, with her husband Larry and their many dogs. Together, they founded the LMS Animal Rescue Foundation in 2015. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity that operates RuffRider Transports and is dedicated to the fostering and rescuing of animals nationwide. RuffRider partners with numerous other rescues and shelters in Louisiana to organize large transports to the Northeast and Midwest Typical transports are anywhere from 30-50 dogs. RuffRider also fosters around 6-10 dogs at a time. Lindsay and Larry focus on dogs that will be difficult to place (heartworms, anxiety, fear, not housebroken, etc.). They work with the dogs to help them overcome these obstacles and then transport them to their furever homes. Going into their fifth year, RuffRider saved nearly 2,000 dogs from euthanasia in 2018 and 2019, and is on track to save another 1,000 dogs in 2020.
